Coaching experience is not necessary.

Spring Sports – Details

Information about these sports programs will be posted in Winter/Spring 2018!

Basketball Clinic

Once our after school basketball season is completed, all Hillview students (and Oak Knoll/ Encinal 5th graders welcome) interested in continuing to improve their basketball skills are welcome to attend Hillview Basketball Clinic. This clinic will emphasize basketball fundamentals important for beginning and intermediate players at the middle school level.  Target students are those who are seriously motivated to learn more about mastering the important foundations of solid basketball play.

Hillview School coaches/teachers Harry Bell, Phil Eaton, and Art Weil (Girls Tournament Team Coach) assisted by high school coaches will lead this dynamic new program.  All coaches have coached the Hillview Tournament Teams, high school, and Burgess League Basketball Programs.  There will also be some high school varsity basketball players coaching.

For more information contact Coach Bell,  650 483-4049 cell, or Coach Eaton.

  • Registration generally opens in Winter through Sportability.
  • Please visit the Tennis website here.
  • The program fills up very quickly, and we have a limited number of spots we can offer.  If your child plans on playing tennis, we recommend registering as soon as possible.  Once registration is full, students will be placed on a waiting list; often, students are able to join the program from the wait list.
  • The Tennis program is open to students who can play a set of tennis and know how to keep score, so only a little experience is required. We strongly encourage signups for athletes who want to develop a life-long appreciation of tennis.
  • Coaches — the Hillview PTO hires well-qualified coaches to conduct practices and matches. There will also be high school student assistant coaches.
  • Parent coordinators administer the program and find parent volunteers to help coaches during practice, help arrange carpools and snacks.
  • Practice Schedule: The season extends from the beginning of March through mid-May. There is no program during Spring Break. The complete schedule, along with more information will be provided after the Winter Break in January.
